Bus Number 4 Now Open For Reservations

This is unbelievable, but because of the demand we have decided to add a fourth and final bus. This means that we could be sending almost 200 people to The National Tax Day Protest. Not bad for one of the most liberal areas in the state. Details can be found lower down on this page. If you are interested please use this contact form to request details on how to make your reservation. This bus will fill up quickly so don’t be left behind.

    Unbelievable.
    Wow. Impressive.
    Almost 200 people.
That’s almost one-tenth of one percent of the population of Albemarle, Charlottesville, and Greene Counties.
    That sure is some ground-swell.
Of course, I’m sure it sounds like many, many more from inside your echo chamber.
Anyway, I’m sure the corporate lobbyists that are sponsoring and organizing the event appreciate your efforts.
By the way, the real Tea Party wasn’t about high taxes or fighting the “socialist threat.” It was about taxation without representation. Your wrath should really be reserved for the obstructionist, largely Republican lawmakers that have have made a mockery of political debate. Even though they appear to share your goals, they are working for corporate interests and not for you. It’s the money that counts.
    Capitalism at its best.

Steve- How much is Perriello/ACORN/SEIU or any of the other wack job community organizations paying you to come here and spill your propaganda? Are you one of the $10 hour employees, or are you making the big bucks like $600 per week, as advertised on Craigslist, paid for by our tax dollars, and, funnelled to you crooks by the Thugocracy in Washington? There are already many countries that support your liberal views to a T. Why not move to one of those, and let the US remain the great nation it was until the liberals took some temporary seats in Congress and the White House?

    • blueridgeguy Says:

      Steve,

How about over 1 million people in DC on the 12th.

  2. Steve Says:

Sandy – You’re really paranoid aren’t you? Is it so unimaginable to you that free thinkers and actors still exist in this country? That not all of us need the support of a herd of like-minded thinkers to openly express our views and opinions?
I come here and post because I think the greatest threat to our country is ignorance and dishonesty and this site (and many more like it) is a hotbed of both. No one asked me to, no one pays me to, and as long as it is a free country I will continue to do it whenever the feeling moves me. While I voted for Perriello (thank God we finally got rid of that imbecile Goode), that is the extent of my relationship with him or it organization. As for ACORN, I have only the vaguest of notions of what it is/does (though I am well aware that you think they constitute a sign of the end of days). And I don’t even know what SEIU stands for. I tell you these tidbits fully expecting you to respond that this simply goes to show the extent and effectiveness of leftist, liberal “indoctrination” and to let you know that I am unafraid of your paranoia and your hopelessly circular and unfounded reasoning.

Of course, the keeper of this site has the right to limit who can and cannot exercise their right to freedom of speech in this forum, but that would seem too blatantly hypocritical even for the self-appointed defenders of freedom to try. Though given that hypocrisy is a such a strong suit of your movement I’m sure you are aleady working on ways to do just that.

Let me be perfectly clear. You and those you “pal around with” have no monopoly on what is and what is not American and you should be ashamed and embarrassed by the enormous hypocrisy and presumption that you do. You and your ilk have slandered our President and his office since the day he was justly elected to it. Nay, you and your ilk have slandered him personally since the moment it became apparent that he was a force of intelligence, integrity, and moral character of the highest order and your lame-ass candidates didn’t stand a snowball’s chance in Hell against him. And rather than engage him or the opposition more broadly in terms of sound, intelligent, reasoned debate you have resorted to smear and scare tactics (unconsciously on your part I’m sure because you clearly don’t have the capacity for the slightest amount of self-reflection to understand what you are really doing, though your unthinking and constant repetition of this clap-trap feeds right in to those more powerful than you for whom it is a very deliberate strategy). Your gang’s charges of “terrorist,” “non-patriot” (remember the flag pin flap?), “Muslim,” “anti-white,” “Nazi,” “Socialist,” “Communist,” “not an American,” “illegally holding office of President,” etc., etc., etc., are nothing more that simplistic ways of saying that Barack Hussein Obama “is not one of us,” that he is illegitimate, and somehow less legitimate than the rest of “us” and therefore that nether he nor his motives should be trusted or respected. It is precisely the same type of argument that for hundreds of years was used to justify race-based slavery (it is okay so long as you believe that those enslaved are less than human, “less than us”) and more than half a century to prop up racist segregationist and discrimantory policy. The fact of the matter is that Barack Hussein Obama is as much an American as you or I and, furthermore, the social and political policies that his administration is pursuing are woven into the very fiber, history, and philosophy of our great nation, and indeed the roots of this so-called “liberalism” go far deeper than that. “Love thy neighbor” and “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” are both tenents grounded in notions of “social justice.”

If you are so naive and uneducated to believe that those who hold political, social, and/or religious views different to yours should leave America for being “unAmerican” than you truly are a threat to the fundamental principals upon which our country was founded and you can be assured that I will fight this threat and the spread of such ignorance until my last breath. Just to leave you with a little more “propaganda,” another sip of the so-called Kool-Aid you think I drinking, here’s a passage from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson that supports my contention that notions of “social justice” are not ideas dreamed up by “outsiders” trying to rob “true Americans” of their imagined “Constitutionally guaranteed rights:”

Excerpt from a letter from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, France, October 28, 1785. [Please note that he is writing conditions iin France and comparing them to the newly born United States. And please read all the way to the last sentence]:

“As soon as I had got clear of the town I fell in with a poor woman walking at the same rate with myself and going the same course. Wishing to know the condition of the laboring poor I entered into conversation with her, which I began by enquiries for the path which would lead me into the mountain: and thence proceeded to enquiries into her vocation, condition and circumstances. She told me she was a day laborer at 8 sous or 4d. sterling the day: that she had two children to maintain, and to pay a rent of 30 livres for her house (which would consume the hire of 75 days), that often she could get no employment and of course was without bread. As we had walked together near a mile and she had so far served me as a guide, I gave her, on parting, 24 sous. She burst into tears of a gratitude which could perceive was unfeigned because she was unable to utter a word. She had probably never before received so great an aid. This little attendrissement, with the solitude of my walk, led me into a train of reflections on that unequal division of property which occasions the numberless instances of wretchedness which I had observed in this country and is to be observed all over Europe.
The property of this country is absolutely concentred in a very few hands, having revenues of from half a million of guineas a year downwards. These employ the flower of the country as servants, some of them having as many as 200 domestics, not laboring. They employ also a great number of manufacturers and tradesmen, and lastly the class of laboring husbandmen. But after all there comes the most numerous of all classes, that is, the poor who cannot find work. I asked myself what could be the reason so many should be permitted to beg who are willing to work, in a country where there is a very considerable proportion of uncultivated lands? These lands are undisturbed only for the sake of game. It should seem then that it must be because of the enormous wealth of the proprietors which places them above attention to the increase of their revenues by permitting these lands to be labored. I am conscious that an equal division of property is impracticable, but the consequences of this enormous inequality producing so much misery to the bulk of mankind, legislators cannot invent too many devices for subdividing property, only taking care to let their subdivisions go hand in hand with the natural affections of the human mind. The descent of property of every kind therefore to all the children, or to all the brothers and sisters, or other relations in equal degree, is a politic measure and a practicable one. Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions or property in geometrical progression as they rise.”

Of course, Jefferson was just another “East Coast liberal.” You’re damn right he was. We’ve been around for a while and we’re not going anywhere, and especially not at the suggestion of people like you.

  3. Sandy Says:

Steve- The old saying that you only get what you pay for is once again proven true. I suggest you return the brain you bought from a cheap Liberal site as the one they sent you is faulty. You need to return it for a full refund. After reading the garbage you wrote above, I would also sue the rats for pain, humiliation, and the lack of being able to function properly in society.

  4. Steve Says:

Sandy – What? Is there something coherent and/or specific you wish to say as regards my comments or ad hominem attacks all you can ever manage?

  5. Susan Says:

Steve-Do you post here because you have no other place to spew your kool-aid fueled rants? Give me a break. YOU drank the cherry flavored leftist kool-aid buddy…just realize it and move on.

    • Sandy Says:

No no Susan- Let him post here, he is too much fun to play with. It doesn’t take 2 living brain cells to reply to his delusions. He is sitting in his basement, probably in mom’s house, pretending to be intelligent, and expecting to get intelligent responses to his idiotic statements. He apparently doesn’t have any like minded friends to have good discussions with. Poor Steve!

      • Lorsie Says:

        Gee Sandy (and Susan),
Thanks for illustrating Steve’s point for all of us. He was inviting you to a civil debate, and you retaliate with a personal attack.
Every little difference of opinion sets you off into attack mode. At first it was funny to watch; now it’s just getting pathetic.
Sounds to me like Steve probably has lots of friends. Nothing to pity at all.

    • rugrat Says:

LOL…Sarcasm misunderstood is sarcasm perfected. Thanks for giggle

  6. Steve Says:

I do it all for you. If you didn’t have someone or something to direct all your pent-up rage at your heads would explode.

  7. Susan Says:

At this point in the discussion I thought it was necessary to remind everyone the definition of terms being so loosely used on this thread.

Lorsie—I thought you especially might benefit from a few of the definitions below.

    civ·il
1 a : of or relating to citizens b : of or relating to the state or its citizenry
    2 a : civilized b : adequate in courtesy and politeness : mannerly
3 a : of, relating to, or based on civil law b : relating to private rights and to remedies sought by action or suit distinct from criminal proceedings c : established by law
4 : of, relating to, or involving the general public, their activities, needs, or ways, or civic affairs as distinguished from special (as military or religious) affairs
5 of time : based on the mean sun and legally recognized for use in ordinary affairs
synonyms civil, polite, courteous, gallant, chivalrous mean observant of the forms required by good breeding. civil often suggests little more than the avoidance of overt rudeness . polite commonly implies polish of speech and manners and sometimes suggests an absence of cordiality . courteous implies more actively considerate or dignified politeness . gallant and chivalrous imply courteous attentiveness especially to women. gallant suggests spirited and dashing behavior and ornate expressions of courtesy
    . chivalrous suggests high-minded and self-sacrificing behavior .

    de·bate
a contention by words or arguments: as a : the formal discussion of a motion before a deliberative body according to the rules of parliamentary procedure b : a regulated discussion of a proposition between two matched sides

I personally think that most of what Steve prefers to do is launch a tirade rather than a civil debate.

    ti·rade
A long angry or violent speech, usually of a censorious or denunciatory nature; a diatribe

    sar·casm
1 : a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2 a : a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b : the use or language of sarcasm

Nay Steve, I think its YOU who need an outlet. After all…..it must just burn all those brain cells you have left just to regurgitate the liberal party line. If your head did–in fact–explode…do you think President Obama’s Healthcare Plan would assist you in a timely manner to save you?

Sandy—you are right! THIS IS FUN!….and now he has brought some more friends to play with!

And I must tell you all that the only reason I have time to sit here and respond is because I am out on medical leave for a surgery that my employer paid healthcare plan allowed me to get in a timely manner at both the hospital and doctor of my choosing. Yes, I work hard for a small business that struggles every day to make a buck and pay our insurance, but I am grateful for it and my job so that my tax dollars can pay for others who are unable to do so.

    free·dom
1 : the quality or state of being free: as a : the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action b : liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another : independence c : the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous d : ease, facility e : the quality of being frank, open, or outspoken f : improper familiarity g : boldness of conception or execution h : unrestricted use
    2 a : a political right b : franchise, privilege

    • Sandy Says:

Susan- Thank you for posting an alternative view to Steve and Lorsie and all those that want to come onto a site, where they have no other goal other than to try to offer their propaganda. It really is nothing more than “fun” to get them to spout more and more garbage. It all comes from the Socialist/Marxist playbook. For the life of me, I cannot understand why some “obvious” educated people, other than Steve, Rugrat, Discourse and Lorsie would buy into the takeover of the USA by the Federal Government. My only guess is that they are in the Progressive mind altering system.
